La scorsa notte sono stati assegnati, a Los Angeles, gli Emmy Awards, gli Oscar della televisione: l'edizione numero sessantanove, condotta da Steven Colbert, ha visto trionfare The Handmaid’s Tale e Big Little Lies tra le serie drammatice, e Veep e Atlanta nella sezione dedicata alle commedie. Non ha fatto in tempo Game of Thrones a concorrere per i premi: il motivo? La messa in onda tardiva (luglio) rispetto al solito (aprile), che ha reso impossibile far concorrere la serie tv Hbo. Spazio anche per i premi individuali: lo ha vinto Elizabeth Moss per The Handmaid’s Tale, Donald Glover per Atlanta. Tra le miniserie Big Little Lies ha trionfato e con la serie anche Nicole Kidman premiata come miglior attrice protagonista.
